Star Plus commences the 'Laadli Week Celebration'..

Extending its support to educate underprivileged girl children, STAR Plus, India's No 1 Hindi General Entertainment Channel commences the 'Laadli Week Celebration' from April 13th to April 17th, 2009.

The first day of laadli week saw the excited kids of NGO Nanhi kali visiting 'Sabki laadli Bebo' set and enjoying with actor Kanwaljeet and Shivshakti Sachdev (Bebo). Later they all went to McDonalds and enjoyed with actor Hina Khan(Akshara) and Shaurya  and Suhani (Saurabh & Sriti Jha).  Laadli Week Celebration will see a series of fund raising and awareness creation events for the Laadli Project through promotions across STAR Plus shows with prime focus on 'Sabki Laadli Bebo'- a serial that celebrates the birth of a girl child. The funds raised will go to support Project Nanhi Kali – an NGO of K C Mahindra Trust.

Besides Anand Mahindra, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Saurav Ganguly, Kiran Bedi, Arjun Rampal, Pooja Bedi, Farah Khan are promoting this initiative. Kicking off on April 13, the kids from Project Nanhi Kali will spend time with the much loved and adored Bebo (Shivshakti) and Kuku Narang (Kanwaljeet) of Sabki Laadli Bebo. Adding to the excitement, the girls will display their drawing skills which will be judged by Akshara (Hina Khan) of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai followed by a fun meal at McDonalds with Shaurya (Saurabh Pandey) from Shaurya Aur Suhani. That's not all; even the customers who walk into any McDonalds outlets during the Laadli Week Celebration are in for a surprise! All they need to do is donate a toy in good condition and on purchase of a Happy Meal, they get a free Strawberry Soft Serve. The toys collected will be given to Nanhi Kali kids.
