Sonam Kapoor, has been enjoying her journey into motherhood since the birth of her son, Vayu, with her husband Anand Ahuja. In a recent interview, Sonam candidly discussed her experiences with motherhood, including the challenges she faced with body image after giving birth.

In a conversation with The Dirty Magazine, Sonam revealed that she had to take a significant amount of progesterone when she became pregnant at 36. This led to a considerable weight gain of 15 kilos within the first three months, and she described this period as being at her "heaviest ever." It took her about a year and a half to shed the extra weight.

Despite the challenges, Sonam emphasized how much motherhood meant to her. "Becoming a mom was so important to me, I wanted it so badly. And then I just needed to be a mom for two years," she said. She acknowledged her privilege in having ample help but expressed a deep desire to be actively involved in every aspect of raising her son. This commitment, she explained, partly stemmed from a "sort of guilt" about conceiving later in life.

Sonam also praised her husband Anand Ahuja for his unwavering support, noting that he shares all responsibilities equally and has been a constant companion. "Nice, na? Nine years together. I'm obsessed with him; everybody keeps saying, 'Oh my god, he loves you so much.' Even I love him, but he's a softer person. I'm like a little more... cool. I got lucky; others are not that lucky. He's a nice guy,” she shared, highlighting the strength of their relationship.

Addressing the topic of body image, Sonam acknowledged that everyone, including movie stars, deals with such issues. She discussed the scrutiny she faces, not just from others but also from herself, as part of her profession. Having grown up in the public eye since her teenage years, Sonam noted how challenging it has been to deal with the changes in her body and appearance over time. "There's always been a body struggle. I mean, I don't want to say 'struggle,' but it is that," she admitted, describing the experience as "traumatic."

Sonam Kapoor, who was last seen in the 2019 film "The Zoya Factor," is set to return to the screen with Rhea Kapoor’s upcoming project, "Battle Of Bittora." As she continues to navigate her roles as a mother, wife, and actress, Sonam remains open about her journey, offering a glimpse into the complexities and joys of her life.

Weight gained during pregnancy can be easily shed off when the toddler starts running around n keeps the mom on her toes . But I guess some prefer nannies to bring up their babies so they have to make extra efforts for shedding extra weight .m
