In a long chat with a leading lady, Sonakshi Sinha revealed that while their families wanted a lavish wedding, the couple wanted to keep it small and intimate. She said they planned everything in 25 days. The couple drew up the friends’ list and called them personally. She said that they were always sure of a small wedding. The actress said she loved the whole house party vibe of her marriage and reception. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal married at her home in a civil ceremony. The post-wedding party was held at Bastian, which is a popular celeb hangout. 

Zaheer Iqbal also spoke to the same paper in the joint interview. He said he was very nervous when he knew he had to meet Shatrughan Sinha to discuss their marriage. He said when they began to talk, he understood that while he appeared to be a bit intimidating Sinha senior was a sweet and genuine human being. He said that he agreed and it was very emotional. Zaheer Iqbal who has done two films is the son of businessman Iqbal Ratansi. They deal in jewels, real estate and film lighting equipment. His sister Sanam Ratansi is a stylist. 

There were a lot of rumours on how Shatrughan Sinha was upset about the marriage. But he denied them. He said that his daughter has the freedom to marry whom she loves. They had been together for seven years, and are best of friends. Even Shatrughan Sinha did a love marriage with his wife, Poonam Chandiramani.
