Tumbbad has made a remarkable comeback to the box office with its re-release. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, this chilling film earned Rs 1.65 crore on its opening day, Friday. This impressive collection came despite its competition with Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders, which managed to gather Rs 1.15 crore on the same day, according to Sacnilk, a trade website.

On September 14, amidst the excitement surrounding the re-release, Sohum Shah, both the actor and producer of Tumbbad, announced the sequel, Tumbbad 2. While he kept most details under wraps, Shah shared a teaser that hints the sequel will be even more engaging and mysterious than the original.

The film's re-release has proven to be a major success, surpassing the earnings of its 2018 debut. Initially, Tumbbad had a modest opening of Rs 65 lakh. However, the film's growing fan base and positive word-of-mouth over the years have led to its current strong performance, far exceeding its previous box office figures.
