Baazigar is widely regarded as one of cinema’s most iconic action-thrillers. With its captivating storyline, unforgettable characters, and memorable background score, the film made a lasting impression on audiences.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Baazigar producer Ratan Jain disclosed that discussions are ongoing with Shah Rukh Khan about a potential sequel to the 1993 classic. Although no definitive plans have been confirmed, Jain emphasized that the project’s future relies entirely on Shah Rukh Khan taking the lead role.
Jain shared that there’s already an “exciting concept” for the sequel but highlighted the need for a “compelling script” and a “fresh direction” to meet the high standards set by the original film. He stated:
We keep talking to Shah Rukh about Baazigar 2 but not much has happened, but it will definitely be made

While we wait for further updates, the prospect of a Baazigar sequel raises intriguing questions about how it might recapture the allure that enchanted audiences over 30 years ago. The original film not only established Shah Rukh Khan as a vengeful antagonist but also delivered a storyline rich in revenge, romance, and moral complexity. Ultimately, a Baazigar sequel presents an opportunity to revisit this beloved classic.
Baazigar became the fourth-highest grossing Hindi film of 1993
Produced on a budget of Rs 40 million, the film grossed an impressive Rs 320 million, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 1993.
Originally directed by Abbas-Mustan, Baazigar follows Ajay Sharma, a young man consumed by revenge over his father’s death. Featuring powerful performances from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, along with standout roles by Dalip Tahil, Rakhee Gulzar, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, and Johnny Lever, Baazigar remains a cinematic masterpiece.

No need for a sequel. Leave it as it is and besides, there is not scope for a sequel since SRK’s character dies in the end. Make something original. I’m getting tired of sequels and remakes.
