Sanjay Leela Bhansali: I was not in a position to lose anymore...

Sanjay Leela Bhansali responds on when Akshay Kumar pushed "Padman's" release date on his request.

Initially, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat" was supposed to clash with Akshay Kumar's "Padman" on January 25, 2018. But, with the request of SLB Akshay pushed his film's release date to next month that is on February 9, 2018, so that the filmmaker can have a safe solo release without any waste of more money.

In an interview with a leading tabloid, Bhansali candidly spoke about his appreciation for Akshay's decision and said, "It was important for both the films to come to an understanding. I asked Akshay not to release our films on the same day because the loss was imminent for both of us in such a case. I was not in a position to lose anymore, which he thankfully understood."

"His gesture only showed the solidarity within the industry," the filmmaker stated.

Meanwhile, Padmaavat which stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is creating great numbers at the box-office and has already crossed the INR 150 crore mark.
