Sanjay Dutt reveals how Subhash Ghai made him wear a Ghagra Choli in Khalnayak

The premiere night event in the city was nothing short of a star-studded affair. Director Subhash Ghai, along with the film's lead actors, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff, graced the event with their presence. At the event, Sanjay Dutt revealed the real incident of how Subhash Ghai made him wear the ghagra choli.
He said, “Main set pe aaya toh apni bandook pehni thi. Toh Subhash ji ne bola isko ghagra choli pehnao. Main shock main tha, maine bola ‘Sir aap kya kar rahe ho?’ Unhone bola ‘Nahi tu pehen ke aa.’ Maine bola ‘Ghagra choli kyu pehen ke aaun?’ Unhone bola ‘Kyuki tu choli ke peeche rahega. (I came to the set, and Subhash said, ‘Make him wear the blouse and skirt. I was shocked. I asked, ‘Sir, what are you doing?’ He told me to go wear it. I asked, ‘Why should I wear the skirt and blouse?’ He said, ‘You will be under the blouse’).”
"Khalnayak" originally hit the big screens on August 6th, 1993, and to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Sanjay Dutt shared a nostalgic video on his Instagram in June featuring some memorable clips from the film.
Renowned playback singers Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, who contributed their melodious voices to the film's unforgettable songs, also joined in the celebration.
