Sandeep Reddy Vanga drops hints: Animal sequel and trilogy plans unveiled

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' continues to resonate with audiences, and the recent buzz about a potential trilogy has fans eagerly anticipating the next chapters. In a candid interview with Galatta Plus, the acclaimed filmmaker delved into the characters and scenes of Animal, shedding light on the possibility of part 2 and even part 3.

Vanga expressed that he always had a hunch about creating a sequel for Animal. As the film concluded with a vulnerable Ranbir Kapoor, the director envisioned giving a sneak peek into Animal Park.

The post-credit butcher scene, according to Vanga, was added to evoke emotions for Ranbir's character, Vijay, setting the stage for the continuation of this feeling in part two. 

He explained, "Because this feeling will continue for a while in part two. So, I thought, okay when you see Volume 1, Volume 2, you’ll feel nice."

Addressing the unique choice of beginning the movie with a 60-year-old Ranbir Kapoor, Vanga hinted at the possibility of a Trilogy. He shared, "Because keeping part 2 and part 3 in mind. I thought maybe in parts 2-3, the old man is narrating."

As for the intriguing title "Animal Park" for the second part, Vanga revealed, "I thought that there’s a bunch of animals, there’s not only one or two. So, it’s a warfare now. It’s like Mahabharat now between brothers and cousins."

The filmmaker disclosed that his upcoming project is "Spirit" with Prabhas as the lead, scheduled to commence filming in September 2024. Only after that will he delve into Animal Park, emphasizing his preference for writing his own material.
