Samridhii Shukla, who plays Abhira in Rajan Shahi's show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says the show has an interesting sequence coming up during Ganesh Chaturthi. The actress adds that there will be big changes in the show.

“There's a change in the storyline as Manish ji does find out about Abhira's connection to him, he comes to know that she is Akshara's daughter. And that's a big change and a revolution waiting to happen. All this will happen during this time,” she says.

She adds, “In our busy lives, we don't celebrate every festival. But our work is such that we, as actors, get to do festival scenes, especially in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. We get to celebrate every festival. So, we get to dress up in ethnic wear. We get to do the puja. Plus, over here also, we do actual puja on set.”

Talking about special on-set rituals or traditions that the cast follows during Ganesh Chaturthi, she says, “We do bring in Ganesh ji as in Ganpati Bappa's idol. Every year it's been happening since the inception of the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. And it is our first time this time and we were very excited.”

Taking off time can be challenging during this time, she says, “It is a festive time for everyone but here usually because of the kind of quality we give there's no scope almost for off's or any festival holidays but we try our best to make everyone feel included and try our best to celebrate everything together so that there's a feeling of togetherness on set.”

She adds, “Everything is readily available online. Shopping is almost sorted there. Because I am blessed to live with my family, they shop for me if I am not physically able to be somewhere. My family also looks after cooking. I don't get Ganpati idols at home, but that's planned to happen soon!”
