Bollywood superstars, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar will be clashing at the box office as each of their ambitious projects-Radhe and Laxmmi Bomb respectively, are all set to hit the theatres on Eid 2020.
However, to avoid a similar situation, the release of Akshay’s Sooryavanshi was preponed to March so that Salman’s Insha Allah, which now remains shelved, could be released on Eid 2020. The affiliation between Bhaijaan and Sooryavanshi director Rohit Shetty had led to this decision, leaving fans of Khiladi Kumar upset with the same.
Extremely unhappy with the decision of preponing Sooryavanshi, fans had mercilessly slammed Rohit Shetty on social media, to a limit wherein Akshay had to intervene and ask his fans to not to abuse Rohit.
To add fire to the already speculated cold war between the two superstars, the Twitter trend #Housefull4FakeCollections is believed to be started by Salman Khan’s fans, reported Deccan Chronicle.
“Their cold war began when Salman pulled out of Kesari as a producer after announcing the project. Salman left the film when he realized that Ajay Devgn wanted to do a film on the same subject, and even tried to reach out to him earlier, but his team didn’t inform him. First Sooryavanshi was pitted opposite Inshallah, after which Sooryavanshi was preponed and Inshallah was shelved,” the website quoted a source as saying.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala among several trade analysts and critics had taken a direct jibe at the makers of Housefull 4 and criticized them for inflating the film’s box-office numbers by a huge margin.
However, in a recent media interaction, the leading man of the film, Akshay Kumar had denied all such reports and stated that "nobody is going to lie for this". The actor had cleared the air and said that “You can talk to theatre owners.”
