The demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has left all of us shattered and heartbroken. This has also given a significant rise in the awareness of mental health amongst people. Actor Romit Raj also took it to his social media account where he posted a picture stating, "Abolish 90 days payment cycle and 12 hours workshift if you really care being human #MentalHealth."
The Actor got into a conversation with Tellychakkar, where he spoke more about the same. Speaking to the portal, Romit explained that if an actor is working with a production house from say January, he will only be paid by May which is a long period of time. He added that how can actors survive without money for so many months? He also mentioned that along with this, there is so much mental stress with a 12 hours shift and if you add up commuting time, the Actor spends more than 15-16 hours.
He also added that a few producers don't even pay and they abscond after making a flop show and the services of the actors in such situation goes in vain without getting paid. He revealed that many producers take the money from the channel and keep it in banks with fixed deposit leaving the cast and crew to suffer. However, he added that it's not only about the actors, even the editors work in a closed little compartment for 12-14 hours and may develop issues related to eye sight, vertigo etc.
