Remo and Lizelle D'Souza Deny Fraud Allegations Against Dance Troupe

Renowned choreographer Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle recently found themselves facing serious allegations of cheating a dance group out of Rs 11.96 crore. In light of these claims, Remo’s team took to Instagram to clarify that the accusations are entirely baseless.

In a detailed statement, Remo's team explained, "This press note is released by M/S Remo D'souza Entertainment Pvt. Ltd ('RDEPL') only for limited purpose of clarifying queries received related to media reports in relation to alleged fraud committed in relation to dance group (Vunbeatable). It seems at the instance of some vested interest, unfortunately, a wrong and false picture is being painted as if Mr. Remo D'Souza and other directors/associates of our company are indulging in the acts of fraud and misappropriation." They also mentioned that an FIR had been filed by Mr. Veergovindam Navrottam against seven individuals, including those associated with RDEPL.

Both Remo and Lizelle expressed their disappointment regarding the accusations in a joint statement. They urged everyone not to circulate rumors or misinformation about the incident, stressing that the truth should prevail.

For context, a case has been filed in Thane against Remo D'Souza, Lizelle, and five others for allegedly cheating the dance troupe out of Rs 11.96 crore. This complaint was lodged by a 26-year-old dancer at the Mira Road police station on October 16. The FIR alleges that the troupe was misled between 2018 and July 2024. According to reports, the accused presented themselves as the troupe's owners after they had won a television show, leading to claims of the prize money.

The charges brought against them include cheating, forgery, and various other offenses as per the Indian Penal Code. As the situation unfolds, the D'Souzas remain committed to defending their integrity and reputation.
