New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) Veteran actress Aroona Irani, who is currently one of the judges of Sahara One's dance reality show 'Saas Vs Bahu' has been inviting flak from the contestants for her bleak remarks on the show.
On one of the recent episodes, television actress Jasveer Kaur of 'Maayka' fame was at the receiving end when she stopped her dance midway due to a knee sprain.
Jasveer or Jassi, as she is popularly known, was given a chance to perform again and she gave a power packed performance. For this, she ended up getting a mouthful from Aroona for lying about her knee sprain.
Aroona had also pointed out that if Jassi had really sprained her knee, her reaction indicated something else.
In course of the argument, actress Soumya Tandon took Jassi's side.
Soumya reasoned that 'real and reel life reactions to pain can be different. Since Jassi knew she was on camera she didn't express her pain, just like actors hide their discomfort of being unwell or injured,' a press release said.
While explaining her stance, Soumya said: 'I just stated my point of view and I wasn't happy about my team getting a zero'.
Fed up with Aroona's constant remarks, Soumya has now said: 'She (Aroona) can be really rude and caustic with the things she says but maybe that's her style, though honestly it disturbs me a bit because we have grown up seeing her on screen."
Apparently, Aroona was miffed with Soumya's argument and hollered back at Soumya on the show.
'Aroona Irani started saying things like 'What do you know? Tum toh kal ki ladki ho (You are very young).' I didn't like the fact that she was being so rude so I just said that she was getting too personal," Soumya narrated.
Since Soumya did not want to blow matters out of proportion on a public platform, she chose not to make it an issue.
'We never got any marks and there was nothing we could do, so what was the point in arguing? So that chapter is closed,' Soumya asserted.
The show pits various mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law from the small screen soaps to compete with each other. It telecasts every Monday to Friday at 8 p.m.
