Rajkummar Rao starrer biopic "Srikanth", directed by Tushar Hiranandani, made a decent start at the box office on its opening day. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the movie garnered over Rs 2 crore in India.
Early estimates suggest that "Srikanth" raked in approximately Rs 2.41 crore on its debut day in India. Additionally, the film witnessed a Hindi Occupancy of 12.14% on Friday.
Released on May 10, "Srikanth" features Rajkummar Rao portraying the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrious individual who overcame visual impairment to establish Bollant Industries. The film highlights Srikanth's inspiring journey of resilience and determination. Alongside Rajkummar Rao, the cast includes Alaya F, Jyotika, and Sharad Kelkar.
India Forums' review of the film reads, "The ingredients to create a good biopic are usually limited because you have to work under a framework, use the tropes following a known story following a known story and keep the characters rooted to their originality. Still, if done rightly, we can get a good product that feels valid for Srikanth. While we have heard about the man, we don't know his journey, and what's shown here is a step-to-step journey in the making, breaking and re-builing of Srikanth Bolla. The run-time may feel a bit problematic, with some loopholes here and there, but the essence of the story remains fresh throughout, making you feel for the character as well as the story. From Srikanth Bolla's birth in a small village in South India as the first sequence to his parents' reluctance to admit that he is blind and will survive in this world to the quick realization of still bringing him up, tells a lot about the unfolding of this inspiring tale."
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani, "Srikanth" has captured the audience's attention with its compelling storyline and powerful performances.
