It was just a few hours back, that the makers of the Sanjay Dutt biopic announced the release date of the film. But, just a few days back the makers of "Soorma" starring Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi chose the same date to release their film.
Earlier Dutt's biopic was shifted to March 30 for its release. Later the makers of "Baaghi 2" starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani chose the same date for the release. However, due to unknown reasons, Dutt biopic has been now finally shifted to June 29, 2018.
But, as one knows how big is Sanjay Dutt's biopic film is...and how has been made on a big scale it seems like it shall be difficult for "Soorma" to survive for weeks and weeks. The multi-starer biopic film consists of actors like Ranbir Kapoor who will be seen playing the titular role as Sanjay Dutt. Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt and Manisha Koirala as Nargis and Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt. Apart from these four actors, the film will also star Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Tabu, Jim Sarbh, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna in the supporting role.
The biopic is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani and Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
From the time the film has been announced, there have been many pictures of the Ranbir in the get up of Sanjay Dutt that had gone viral on the internet. The biopic will be showing his journey in films, the controversy that he has been into, the dark phase of his life when he was into drugs and much more. Whereas "Soorma" tells the story of the legendary hockey player, Sandeep Singh played by Diljit Dosanjh, who was paralyzed and wheelchair-bound for 2 years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a stunning comeback in 2008. India won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2009 under his captainship and went on to qualify for the London Olympics 2012. The film is helmed by Shaad Ali and produce by Sony Pictures Networks India, The CS Films and Chitrangada Singh
Hmm... Two biggest stars one whose story has been known to many and is wanting to see on screen and the other who has given up his life for the country but, his story is not known to many. Well, we wonder will the makers of "Soorma" shift their release date to avoid the clash with Sanjay Dutt's biopic?
