Here is Mrinalini talking about the same
Tell us something about yourself?
Mrinalini is a girl who is full of life; I do my work with heart and I am a happy go lucky girl. I enjoy every bit of my life. I love shopping, partying and those things which boys do like bike riding, playing football and many more. I love adventure travelling. I am a Delhiite and acting ka keeda kaata so Mumbai aagayi to pursue my aspiration in becoming an actress. I did many Television shows not as a lead but some good cameos. I got married here itself and I am very happy with my married life as well as with my professional life.
How did the show Pavitra Rishta happen to you?
I consider my marriage very lucky because when I got married and as soon as I entered in my house I got a call from Balaji Telefilms. They asked me to come for an audition as they knew me before as I had worked with them in Kitani Mohabbat Hai - 2. I told them that abhi abhi toh grahpravesh hua hai and I was very tired because I had traveled from Delhi after all the rituals. So they told me to come next day and I went for the audition and after two days I got a call from the production house saying that I am selected for the role. They told me that I had to go to their office to sign the contract. This is how Pavitra Rishta happened to me.
Do you enjoy playing the tomboyish character of Tejaswini?
I just love the character of Tejaswini because she is a girl who is exactly like Mrinalini. When I was offered Teju's character that is shown as Archana and Manav's daughter and who is a tomboy, I immediately accepted the role as I thought that I just have to be myself for this role and this is the best role which I can portray on-screen. This character is very bubbly, chirpy and bindass just like me. So I enjoy playing Teju's character. And the show is very nice.

How was your first encounter with the senior actors who are in the show from long time and how is your equation with them?I met Hiten sir (Hiten Tejwani) at the press conference which was held at Novotal Hotel because the show had taken a big leap. He is a very nice person. Well I am a person who is very friendly and I have a frank nature. When I met Usha Nadkarniji, Ankita Lokhande I got along with them quickly and we share a friendly rapport. I never think that I am a newcomer and have to be conscious or something like that. I am a girl who is outspoken and very bindass but that doesn't mean I disrespect them. I had worked with Balaji before also so I was very comfortable. Even when I started to work for the first time in this industry, I was very comfortable and confident. I was never anxious. Now when I started working in Pavitra Rishta all the co-stars are very friendly especially Ankita. I and Ankita are like best friends and we are like buddies. We all listen to music on my speaker which my husband has gifted to me and they call it tuntuna. Me and Ankita sing songs and dance on the sets when we are free. We talk about various things, do gossips and many more things.
You hold a MBA degree in Human Resources, then what made you to change you career and opt for modeling?
I always
wanted to be a model and wanted to do acting, but my family background is
highly educated as my Dad is a doctor, Mom is a teacher and brother is a LLB, so
they wanted me to pursue MBA and not only remain a graduate. They supported me
for my modeling as my parents are very liberal.
You are a model, anchor and actress, so what struggle you have faced to achieve in all these professions?
Frankly speaking I have not faced any struggle throughout my journey. I have taken only good roles that have come my way. I am in Mumbai from past five years before I did shows like Kitani Mohabbat Hai - 2, Rang Badalti Odhani and many more and then from last two years I am doing Pavitra Rishta so I never faced any kind of struggle. I know that if I have to bag a lead role then I will have to face struggle. I don't say it is easy to get into this industry as people have to face struggle and go through various hardship in life however, it was easy for me to get into in this industry as I am a happy go lucky girl. I take up good roles willingly. I recently got a call for a role for which I clearly said that ki agar mere pass kaam bhi nai hota toh bhi mai aisa kaam nahi karti. I have done a film with Ranvir Shorey which I don't think will release due to some problems. I always wanted to do modeling and I did but after some time I got fed up with modeling and I came to Mumbai to become an actress because I wanted to achieve fame.
As you have tried you luck in both Bollywood and Television, so what attracts you more?
Both attract me whether it's TV or Bollywood. I will love to work if a get a good role in either of them. If I get a chance to work in a big banner film then obviously I will prefer working for Bollywood but if I am offered a low budget film which just comes and goes then I would prefer to stay back in Television with good roles. I wonder that why people act in a low budget film which is hardly noticed and recognized. I will suggest all the actors not to go for a small budget films, until and unless the film has a very good script, opt for a show in the Television.
What are your other interests other than modeling and acting?
I like sleeping, I love eating food as I am a very foodie which u can't make out by looking at me (laughs) and I am crazy for driving, I simply love driving. I am planning to write on my car that I am born for driving. I really enjoy myself and remain happy always. I do all things what I like and want to do. I am not a girl who would like to stay back at home, I am that kind of a girl who always want be involved in some or the other activity.
What is your ambition in life?
I guess whatever my ambition was I have achieved it and I am still achieving. I wanted to do modeling and I even participated in Femina Miss India and was one of the finalists. I walked the ramp for leading designers. Then I was an anchor for the show Showbiz on Imagine and then I ended up doing acting. I am happy with the roles I have done. I know that I have to bag a lead role yet but still I am satisfied with my work. My life is pretty cool and is going very smoothly.
How is your married life?
My married life is very good; I have got a very nice and decent husband. His name is Manan Modi. I met him in 2007 as he was the director the show Banungi Main Miss India which I was doing. Now he is working with a leading entertainment newspaper. He is a very down to earth person and always wants to maintain low profile. Our marriage is like love cum arranged and we are having a very healthy relationship.
Way to go Mrinalini! Keep up the good work!
