"I am very painfully conscious of the accusations made against me," says Papon

Renowned singer, Papon has been embroiled in a major controversy that has taken over the internet, post a video of him kissing a minor contestant went viral. The act was termed as inappropriate by supreme court lawyer Runa Bhuvan as the complaint falls under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) act.

As per a leading daily, Papon's lawyer Gaurang Kanth stated that it was just a peck on the cheek and it was his way of showing affection.

The girl's parents however, have refused to lodge a complaint as they also found this an act of affection and that he is a father figure to her.

Statements have been made and notices have been issued to Papon as well as the channel. NCPCR chairperson, Stuti Kacker stated that "Statements may be issued by different people now but we have to move within the ambit of the legal framework. We have sent notices by email and they need to answer in writing within seven days. This in keeping with out procedure."

Even after the statement issued by the parents, the accusations by NCPCR stand against Papon.
