Kartik Aaryan strives for better ecosystem for movies; says, 'Main hamesha apni fee kam karne...'

Kartik Aaryan said he did not take fee for Shehzada

Farah Khan dropped a bomb when she said that actors/actresses now have teams of close to 10 people, which puts unnecessary burden on producers. The next big movie from Bollywood is Chandu Champion. In an interview with Film Companion, Kartik Aaryan said that he is very conscious that his film has to be a profit-making one. He said that actors should be ready to lower their fee if they are unable to command revenues from the box office. 

The young stars said he does not believe in having a selfish attitude. He said he is not focused on only making maximum money for himself. Kartik Aaryan said his producer and directors knew his mindset. He said being reasonable is good for the entire ecosystem. He said not only good reviews but theatrical business matters as well. 

Aryan opined that hundreds work hard day and night on a film set. He said benefits of a profit should reach everyone. Kartik Aaryan did not charge any fee to makers of Shehzada. He said he did this long before people spoke about things like entourage costs and all.

He told a leading entertainment portal, “Because they were falling short of finances, I let go off my remuneration. No one writes this about stars. It is not just me, a lot of stars do this and a lot bigger things.” 

Kartik Aaryan said no one deliberately would want to see their project going over budget. He said he believes that no star has such a selfish attitude that he or she will charge any fee irrespective of how it impacts a movie.
