Pooja Banerjee aka Rhea wraps shoot for ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ as she takes a maternity break

Zee TV’s popular fiction show, Kumkum Bhagya has been an audience favourite courtesy of its intriguing plot and the authentic portrayal of relatable characters like Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia), Pragya (Sriti Jha), Rhea (Pooja Banerjee), Aaliya (Reyhna Pandit), Ranbir (Krishna Kaul) and Prachi (Mugdha Chapekar). While every character has a different equation with the others on the show, the whole unit is closely knit off-screen.

The cast and crew of the show rejoiced as Pooja Banerjee who plays the character of Rhea in the show announced her pregnancy. Banerjee decided to continue work and not quit the show immediately. She’s one of the few actresses who shot until the last trimester.

Pooja who decided to have a working pregnancy was quoted saying, "When I asked my doctor if I should be resting or working, he said one needs to rest in the first three months of pregnancy. Post that, you should be active and hence, I could continue working. I discussed it with my family, too, and they felt it was best as it would keep my mind occupied. And this is what makes me happy, too."

As Pooja’s due date is round the corner, the actress has finally decided to quit the show and wrap up the shoot to take on the new responsibility in her life. The actress got a warm farewell on the sets of her show wherein she clicked pictures with different sets of people and thanked them individually for being there for her while she worked being pregnant.

Pooja later took to social media and shared a video on her Instagram stories to announce to the viewers that she has officially quit the show as she has other responsibilities. She thanked the producers, directors, cast and crew of the show for being there for her in the journey. As she spoke, her voice trembled as she fought back her tears.

Must say, Pooja has been an inspiration for all the pregnant working women.
