Jayam Ravi took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to share two picture notes announcing his mutual decision with his former wife Aarti to end their marriage. The couple tied the knot in 2009. Aarti, the daughter of renowned television producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, and Jayam Ravi are parents to two sons, Arav and Ayaan.

In his heartfelt social media post, Jayam expressed that the decision to part ways with Aarti was a difficult one, made after careful deliberation. Although he did not disclose the specific reasons behind their choice, he emphasized that it was made with the well-being of all those connected to them in mind.

In his post, Jayam Ravi wrote, "After much thought and discussion, I have taken the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of my marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made out of haste and it stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved."

Continuing in his message, the actor requested privacy and understanding from his fans and the media as he closed a significant chapter in his life. Jayam also urged against engaging in speculation or spreading rumors regarding his and Aarti's choice to part ways.

He penned, "In light of this, I hereby kindly request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time and appeal to all of you to refrain from making any assumptions, rumors or allegations in this regard and let the matter remain private."
