Oviya leaked: Tamil actress swings into action; files case against morphed video creator

Oviya Helen has been in the news for the leaked video. It is trending on social media since two days. The 17 seconds clip is of a couple having sexual intercourse, with the face of the woman looking apparently like Oviya. Fans began to ask her if it is indeed her in the video. Also, some low lives on social media began to circulate the clip with her name, and it became viral on X and Telegram channels. The morphed video is the talking point on X. Oviya reacted sarcastically to those who asked her if it is indeed her in the trending clip. 

Now, as per a report in News18, she has filed a case with the Police Commissioner of Chennai against the morphed sex video. It seems she feels someone has done it with an intention to bully and malign her image. Her manager said that he could not reveal the name of the person who is the alleged accused. He also said that Oviya is unwell. The Chennai Police has promised stern action on the same. Female celebs the world over are becoming victims to deep-fake and AI generated morphed videos. It is a highly concerning situation all over the world. 

Oviya Helen is famous from Bigg Boss Tamil season one. She had won hearts on the show. Though she had to quit mid-way her personality made an impression. Oviya is from Thrissur in Kerala. She made her debut in the Prithviraj Sukumaran movie Kangaroo. Later, she stepped into Tamil movies with Nalaai Namadhe. In South, she has worked with the likes of Kamal Haasan, R Madhavan and Sivakarthikeyan. She was in the movie Marina. The incident is a reminder of the horrors of cyber bullying. Even Anjali Arora became victim to such a morphed viral MMS two years back. It was trending for days. Today, Rashmika Mandanna has been declared as brand ambassador of cyber safety in India.
