It is indeed no secret as to how the digital world is probably at its peak in terms of rolling out content back and forth where not only is there a plethora of shows and films to be choosing from but also a bombardment of streaming services to select from.

Amidst all the big players, Ullu application has been a welcome addition to many and even though it is still finding its feet in terms of making a mark in the streamer race, it does have an array of shows to choose from.

On that note, the app launched its latest original called Kasak that released yesterday. The show has received a great response immediately and we had the opportunity to chat with one of the actors from the show, Taniya Chatterjee. As one would remember, Chatterjee recently made her debut with Alt Balaji's Gandi Baat 4 and now she is all set and ready with Kasak.

Opening up on the story and backdrop, Chatterjee said, "Kasak is based on a true story. The real incident happened with a nurse called Aruna Shanbaug in a hospital. The situation takes a turn for the wrong when she was brutally raped and post that she was in a coma. For the next 42 years, she continued to be alive and breathing but still in a coma. Post that, she passed away. Not many knew about this incident back then but when a journalist came in when she was still alive and around 42 years old and covered the whole saga. And it was only after that her case was popular and people came to know about this woman. In the show, Kasak, the character of the victim is played by actor Ihana Dhillon. And while the presentation is obviously not entirely the same as the original victim's story was but it is largely inspired. The role of the journalist is played by Minissha Lamba. The name of my character is Nita Chatterjee, and while she wasn't one of the real characters from the real story, she is shown to be a close friend to the victim in the show.

Telling us about her role, Chatterjee said, "Coming to my role, it was indeed an amazing experience to play the role and I play a nurse in the show who is a cute and bubbly girl. It is indeed amazing for me in several ways as it is a different genre for me altogether from where and what I played in Gandi Baat 4. From playing a bold and glamourous character in Gandi Baat to playing a cute, simple, and bubbly girl in Kasak is the kind of variation and actor likes to have and I am fortunate to have that. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I had a great time shooting for the show."
