Nostalgic Revelation: Jackie Shroff recalls playful punching incident with Anil Kapoor on 'Yudh' set

Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor have formed one of the most iconic on-screen duos since the late 80s, starring in numerous successful films such as 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Parinda'. Their camaraderie extends beyond the silver screen as they share a deep and lasting friendship. In a recent interview, Jackie took a trip down memory lane and fondly recalled an incident from shooting their film 'Yudh' when he punched Anil.

The charming 'Hero' star revealed that Gulshan Grover, their co-star, was in tears during a particular scene. Jackie explained that Anil's commitment to his craft was unparalleled, often aiming for authentic realism in his performances. This dedication sometimes led him to physically strike his co-stars during intense scenes, although he would later apologize for his actions. Seizing an opportunity for fun, Jackie played along and gave Anil a genuine punch during the 'Yudh' shoot.

However, what followed was characteristic of Jackie's playful nature. Immediately after delivering the punch, he showered Anil with praise, exclaiming how strong and handsome he appeared. Jackie humbly admitted that he considered Anil a more skilled actor than himself, resulting in his complete indifference towards screen time distribution between them. He emphasized his flexibility and expressed his willingness to learn from Anil, considering him a senior in the industry. Despite their age difference, Jackie humorously remarked that Anil still resembled his iconic character Lakhan from 'Ram Lakhan'.

Jackie further lauded Anil for his serious approach to work, noting that sharing screen space with him automatically revealed a serious side in himself. Their undeniable chemistry and mutual respect continue to shine through whenever they collaborate.

Exciting rumours are circulating that Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff will reunite on the big screen again. The project is said to be produced by Subhash Ghai and written by Anees Bazmee, sparking anticipation among fans eager to witness the magic of their on-screen pairing once more.
