BollyCurry is back with a new wave of birthday greetings for an actor whose acting skills are beyond par and who is one of the most celebrated actors today, Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Siddiqui was born in the small town of
Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer and he had a big
family
of nine siblings. After graduating from the National School of Drama,
New Delhi, in 1996, Siddiqui spent a few important years of his life
struggling in Mumbai. A lesser known fact remains that he made his
Bollywood debut with the 1999 hit
film Sarfarosh. He also played small roles
in movies like Shool (1999) and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003).
A strong path into Bollywood was
carved for him with his appearance in renowned director Anurag Kashyap's crime
drama Black Friday (2004). However, his claim
to fame as an actor came with the role of a journalist in Aamir Khan
Productions' satirical comedy Peepli Live
(2010). His subsequent appearances in notable movies like Kahaani (2012), Paan Singh Tomar (2012), Gangs
of Wasseypur - Part 1 (2012), Gangs
of Wasseypur - Part 2 (2012), Talaash
(2012), Aatma (2013), Bombay Talkies (2013), The Lunchbox (2013), Kick (2014), and Badlapur (2015) among others, successfully made him a household name.
One of the most critically acclaimed actors in
Bollywood, Siddiqui is a recipient to many prestigious awards, including
the likes of the National Film Award (Special Mention), Zee
Cine Awards, Screen Awards, Stradust Awards, Asian Film Awards and the
list
goes on.

- Siddiqui did a short film with Irrfan Khan, titled The Bypass in 2003.
- He has tried his hand at television without much success.
- His first lead role was in Prashant Bhargava's Patang (2012), which went on to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival, for which he earned the appreciation of famous film critic, Roger Ebert.
- Siddiqui also played a cameo role in the 2003 film Dev D's hit song "Emotional Attyachar" with the stand-up comedian Sunil Grover.
