Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita Dhulipala engagement: Know all about Nagarjuna's first wife Lakshmi Daggubati

 The engagement of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala was a quite affair. It happened on the morning of August 8, 2024 at the home of actor Nagarjuna. The pics suggest it was a traditional South Indian ceremony with only close members in attendance. We also saw Nagarjuna’s first wife Lakshmi Daggubati, who is the mother of Naga Chaitanya. She is the first wife of Nagarjuna. They had married in 1984. Their only child, Naga Chaitanya was born in 1986. Nagarjuna and she separated in 1990. Two years later, he married actress Amala Mukherjee who was one of the leading ladies of Tamil cinema then. 

Lakshmi Daggubati is the daughter of top filmmaker D Ramanaidu. She is the sister of Venkatesh and aunt to Rana Daggubati. It seems the couple maintained a decent relationship after divorce for the sake of their son, Naga Chaitanya. Later on, she went on to marry Sarath Vijayaraghavan, who was working in Sundaram Motors. She is also the owner of Lakshmi Interiors. Lakshmi Daggubati lived in the US for many years. Nagarjuna is very close to his step-mom Amala Akkineni. After his divorce, he was living in the family home with his dad and step-mom. 

It was said that Lakshmi Daggubati’s decision to remarry that upset Naga Chaitanya immensely. He had apparently distanced himself from her. But he denied these claims saying that he lives in Hyderabad for work. He said he visits her in the US whenever he is travelling there or for work. Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a great bond with her biological mother-in-law Lakshmi Daggubati. Naga Chaitanya and she had travelled to Singapore for birthday celebrations of Lakshmi Daggubati’s son from her second marriage. He came for the engagement of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhuliapala as well. 

Sobhita Dhulipala is from Vishakhapatnam. Her father was an engineer in Merchant Navy while her mom is a primary school-teacher. She is a Brahmin while Nagarjuna is from the Kamma caste. Naga Chaitanya is looking forward to his movie Thandel with Sai Pallavi. He was in a relationship with Samantha Ruth Prabhu for ten long years, and was married to her for four years.
