"My wife is never a disadvantage to me", says Neil Bhatt on entering 'Bigg Boss 17' with Aishwarya Sharma

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin fame Neil Bhatt is inside the Bigg Boss 17 house, impressing the audience with his gameplay. Before entering the show, Neil engaged in an exclusive conversation with India Forums, discussing how having couples on the show can be advantageous or disadvantageous and discussed various other topics.

How excited are you about the morning dance? 

(Laughs) I haven't seen the show, but I'm aware that there is a song played to which the contestants wake up, so yeah, obviously, I think that's the only source of musical entertainment we can ever experience. It's a very innovative way of waking people up, so I'm looking forward to it. I love songs, I love music so maybe you can get to see me singing. 

What was your first reaction when the show was offered? 

I didn't react immediately; I was taking my time because whenever a project is offered, especially a professional project, I take time to breathe in and make informed decisions. So that's what I did, and gradually, I started warming up to this idea, and I said Yes. 

In previous seasons, contestants have commented on couples' entry as an advantage. What's your take on this? 

In my previous interviews, too, 1/2 of the people asked me the same question, and there was only one counter from my side. The ones who are entering alone also have the advantage that they don't have to take any responsibility for others inside the house. Everything has its own pros and cons. You can say fortunately or unfortunately. Everyone has a different perception. I want to believe that, yes, if I'm inside the house with my partner, my wife, so that's an advantage for me. My wife is never a disadvantage to me. It's a game show, and I'm taking it as a game show. This is not my ultimate truth, or it's not my life. This is a game, simple as it is. I'm playing a game, we both are playing a  game, and all the contestants are playing a game. I want the audience to understand that there is a  big difference between life and a show, be it any show, so we are all playing a game; we are going to be put in situations where we will have to make difficult choices and according to the game we have to make difficult decisions that don't define the person in real life. This is what I feel. 

We have observed Salman Khan giving advice to couples regarding one partner influencing the other or something similar. Have you discussed this as well?

No, we are going to behave instinctively, the way we are, as we are unaware of the situations we will go through inside the house, so we will behave accordingly. Yes, if Salman Sir gives his feedback that such things are happening. One thing can be that, intentionally, nobody is doing anything, but if he instructs on something that, this is it, or this is what is shown even though you are not doing it, it's been shown, so be careful of it. So obviously, we will take the feedback; that's what Salman sir is for; he is there to give feedback; every weekend, he will come and will let us know what is going right and what is going wrong, so everyone needs guidance, and I'm very open to it.
