From the makers of horror thriller movies like Raaz (2002) and the Murder trilogy and romantic movies like Aashiqui 2 (2013), comes a scifi thriller Mr. X. Produced by Vishesh films and directed by Mahesh Bhatt, this film is about a man who turns vigilante after he gains the power of invisibility. The principal character is played by Emraan Hashmi while Amyra Dastur plays his lady love. The film will have both 3D and 2D release.
Since Aashiqui 2, Jeet Gannguli has been the
main music
composer for Vishesh Films and the trend seems to continue with this
movie too. Along with Gannguli, Ankit Tiwari, another regular composer for
Vishesh Films, has also composed songs for this album. BollyCurry gave this
album a listen and this is what we think about it!
The album
opens with the song "Tu Jo Hain", sung and composed by Ankit Tiwari.
It is penned by Mohnish Raza. Tiwari tries to recreate the same magic he made
with "Tu Hai Ki Nahi" from Roy,
which was also sung and composed by him. While his efforts pay off up to a
certain point, the song does not seem to stand out compared to its predecessor.
Nevertheless, this love ballad is very pleasant to listen to and would soon
reach the top ten music countdowns all over the country.
The
second track of this album seems to be the title track, "Mr. X". The
main vocalist is Mili Nair backed by the voice of director Mahesh Bhatt
himself. Composed by Jeet Gannguli and written by Rashmi Singh, the song gives
us a glimpse about who the titular character actually is. While the song might
not be what music lovers would prefer on a daily basis, it is surprisingly good
for casual listening!
Third in
line is "Saad Shukrana", another romantic song. Composed and sung by
Ankit Tiwari, this track turns out be quite melodious due to its vibrant music
and beautifully penned lyrics. Tiwari's vocals bring the song to life making it
one of the best in this album. The lyricist of this number is Manoj Muntashir.
Number
four in this album is "Alif Se". Composed by Ankit Tiwari, the music
is quite fast paced. The vocals are by Neeti Mohan and Ankit Tiwari who make
this track sound very exotic just with their voices. Penned by Abhendra Kumar
Upadhyay, this song is perfect for parties!
The last
two songs in this album are actually two different versions of the same song,
both composed by Jeet Gannguli and penned by Rashmi Singh. The male version of
"Teri Khushboo" is sung by Arijit Singh while the female version is
sung by Palak Muchhal. The songs are quite slow and seem to be sad songs. Yet
they are quite delightful to listen to due to its music and vocals. While these
two tracks might not be for your daily playlists, they are great to listen to
once in a while!
While all
the songs in this album are above average, none of them stands out or sound
different from each other. BollyCurry gives this album 4 out of 5 stars and
wishes that the next piece of music from either Gannguli or Tiwari, turns out
to be different from the rest of their usual compositions.
Mr. X is releasing on 17th April in your nearest theatres.
