A week has passed and we are back with the lineup of the most amazing tracks from recent movies, giving you an insight to what are soon to become blockbuster hits all over the nation! Come, take a look at the Top 10 songs of the week!!
10. Aankhon Mein Neendein
Film: We Are Family
Singer(s): Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan
Music: Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy
We finally did it, Ranjha Ranjha is officially off the charts! Taking its place is none other than the highly anticipated We are Family album. Unfortunately, the music of Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy fails to rise above ordinary, as is the case with Aankhon Mein Neendein. However the saving grace of this track is the partnership of singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal who, as usual, are a treat to hear!
9. Lafangey Parindey
Film: Lafangey Parindey
Singer(s): Ronit Sarkar
Music: R. Anandh
This track seems to be like a point of contention for many listeners. You will either love it or hate it and at BollyCurry, we're definitely in the love camp at the moment! Some interesting use of soft rock and a lot of masti in the song does it for us, and it is surely a must to listen to, at least once!!
8. Mera Jeena Hai Kya
Film: Aashayein
Singer(s): Neeraj Shridhar
Music: Pritam
This song is an interesting start to the album which has gained much popularity recently. Whilst it may not be everyone's cup of tea, Mera Jeena starts with a long prelude of soft music before surprisingly switching gears to rock, taking the listener through a journey of high notes and reaching a beautiful climax.
7. Tum Jo Aaye
Film: Once Upon a Time in Mumbai
Singer(s): Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Tulsi Kumar
Music: Pritam
It maybe waning in it's popularity, but the simple lyrics and uncomplicated rhythm grant the song a sweetness that makes this track worth listening to. Sometimes, simplicity is the trick to gaining momentum!!
6. Suno Aisha
Film: Aisha
Singer(s): Amit Trivedi, Ash King
Music: Amit Trivedi
Suno Aisha once again manages to cling onto the charts. Entertainingly catchy lyrics and a beautiful background score makes this chic song worth listening to! Amit Trivedi has yet again proved himself to be a genius with an amazing soundtrack, which makes a place for itself in clubs, iPods, car audios and home stereo systems all over!!
5. Madno
Film: Lamhaa
Singer(s): Chinmaye, Kshitij Tarey
Music: Mithoon
And Madno continues it's reign on the charts! With a mellow, soothing tune playing in the background and lyrics that are an absolute treat to listen to, this track will surely leave you in a daze!
4. Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol
Film: Aisha
Singer(s): Tochi
Music: Amit Trivedi
A few knocks back for Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol this week, yet the song can not be missed for it seems to give a new flavour to chart busting wedding songs and is a complete Punjabi package with some amazing lyrics. Definitely not one to be missed!
3. Munni Badnaam
Film: Dabangg
Singer(s): Mamta Sharma, Aishwarya
Music: Lalit Pandit
Whilst it pales in comparison to Tere Mast Mast Do Nain of the same movie, this foot-tapping item number still manages to climb up the charts.
2. Pee Loon
Film: Once upon a time in Mumbai
Singer(s): Mohit Chauhan
Music: Pritam
Prachi and Emraan, who would have thought? The understated lyrics of this track and wonderful sufi feel, along with the soft music, promise to stay on with the listener long after the music stops playing. Without a doubt, the Mohit - Pritam duo succeeds yet again!
1. Tere Mast Mast Do Nain
Film: Dabangg
Singer(s): Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shreya Ghoshal
Music: Sajid-Wajid
With nothing new on the horizon, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain holds onto it's no.1 position! Reminiscent of the tranquilizing music not often heard in this era now; the song brings back the feel of amazing lyrics, great rhythm, and not to mention, superb voice quality. It would surely be a crime if this doesn't make an entry on many iPods soon!
