Munjya seems to draw its inspiration from Indian folklore. All films of Maddock whether it is Stree or Bhediya have this element. There are many supernatural creatures in Indian folk stories that are yet to be explored. The first look of Munjya has made people compare it to Gollum of The Lord Of The Rings. In fact, the look is also quite similar. He was one of the key characters in the quest of the ring. Everyone has tagged it as the Gollum of Bollywood.
