'Alpha' release date announced! Alia Bhatt and Sharvari's action to explode in 2025

Yash Raj Films' much-anticipated spy thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, is set to hit theaters on Christmas 2025. The official release date was announced on Friday, sparking excitement among fans. Alpha is part of the expansive YRF Spy Universe, which also includes blockbuster franchises like Tiger, Pathaan, and War. What makes Alpha unique is that it will be the first women-led spy film in this thrilling universe.

Sharvari Wagh took to social media to share the exciting news, as YRF also posted on its official Instagram handle, "On Christmas 2025, #ALPHA will rise! Get ready for an action-packed holiday... 25th Dec, 2025." The announcement has only increased the buzz, as fans eagerly await this high-stakes action movie that promises intense thrills and powerful performances from its female leads.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh have been shooting for Alpha for some time now, teasing glimpses of their journey along the way. Earlier, Alia shared a photo on Instagram with Sharvari, captioning it, "Love, ALPHA!" (sic). The film, directed by Aditya Chopra, will feature both actresses as super-agents, marking their entry into the YRF Spy Universe. Alongside Alia and Sharvari, the movie will also star seasoned actors Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles.

In July, Alia and Sharvari had shared a teaser video on Instagram to officially reveal the film's title—Alpha. The teaser, featuring a voiceover by Alia, gave fans a sneak peek into the film's concept. "Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar, aur hamari program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez. Sabse veer," Alia’s voice said, hinting at the central theme of leadership and dominance in the world of espionage. The teaser ended with a powerful message: "Jungle mein humesha raaj karega… Alpha."

The YRF Spy Universe began in 2012 with Ek Tha Tiger, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017, War in 2018, and Pathaan in 2023. With the release of Alpha, the spy universe will further expand, with other projects like War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. lined up as well.
