The #MeToo movement took the country by storm last year when Tanushree Dutta filed a case against Nana Patekar for sexually harassing her. What followed was a tsunami. Actor after actor, and producers, directors, many fell in line as women came forward with their horrifying stories.
One shocking case was of Alok Nath. Television screenwriter and producer Vinta Nanda accused Alok Nath of molesting her and raping her. She wrote her ordeal on her social media page and even files an F.I.R against him. Following the charges, Nath was expelled from Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).
The latest news about the case is that the Oshiwara Police might file a closure report in the case as they haven’t been able to find any evidence against Alok Nath. As per the reports of Mid-Day, an officer from Oshiwara police station said,"We have recorded a detailed statement of the victim. Two witnesses were called to the police station a number of times but they haven’t yet recorded their statements."
The shocking detail is that neither Vinta nor her lawyer, Dhruti Kapadia are aware of the proceedings. In a statement to a leading entertainment portal, Kapadia said,"We have not been intimidated, neither orally nor in writing. So, it would be just premature for me to say anything on this at this moment."
