As the battle for box office supremacy continues, two Bollywood offerings, "Maidaan" and "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan," have locked horns in a showdown this week. And now, the second-day collections offer a glimpse into their respective journeys at the ticket counters.
"Maidaan," the sports drama chronicling the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, has made a commendable start, amassing over Rs 9 crore within two days of its release. Led by Ajay Devgn in the titular role, the film strikes a chord with audiences, portraying Rahim's indomitable spirit and his pivotal role in shaping Indian football. The limited release strategy on Wednesday yielded Rs 2.6 crore, followed by a promising Rs 4.5 crore on its opening day. Day two witnessed a steady performance, with collections amounting to Rs 2.72 crore nett across India. With a total collection of Rs 9.82 crore, "Maidaan" seems poised for a slow trajectory at the box office.

The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, features a star-studded ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F. The Eid release witnessed a stellar opening, raking in Rs 15.65 crore on day one. Ir earned around 7.00 Cr in India on its second day for all languages. Despite facing stiff competition, "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" maintains a strong foothold at the box office.

Both these movies are disasters. Maidaan should just have released on OTT only. BMCM had flop written all over it. No surprise that it bombed so badly.
