The Marathi film industry seems to be blossoming with each passing day. The number of releases has shot up over the last three years and so have the profits, that too, without 'superstars' or big budgets.
2016 has brought in a new wave of a lot of Bollywood actors attempting to bring about a positive change in the way the regional cinema is treated. Recently, Raquesh Vashisht made his debut with Vrindavan and now it is time for Madhura Naik, who will be seen in 2 Marathi films - 'Story Ahe Pan Khari Ahe' and a tentatively titled movie - 'Bumper New Year' apart from a Bollywood movie.
The actress is also the face of the MBCL (Marathi Box Cricket League).
Speaking to her about her inclination to promote the Marathi cinema, Madhura quipped, "I have done TV shows, the last one being Naagin, but now I want to take a back seat from TV and focus on films. Being a Maharashtrian, I feel it is necessary to promote the growth of the culture and I must say, the Marathi film fraternity is growing wonderfully. I am also shooting for a Bollywood movie which is on the verge of completion; however I cannot talk about it right now."
Good-luck Madhura!
