Lock Upp fame In the fast-paced world of showbiz, where schedules are tight and demands are high, maintaining peak physical fitness is often deemed a non-negotiable necessity. Ali Merchant, celebrated for his roles in popular television shows like "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" and "Sadda Haq," as well as his notable appearance on the reality show "Lock UPP," recently opened up about his injury. He underwent back surgery just days ago, yet shortly after his surgery, he was on stage for the awaited show in Indore. Ali shared that the path to recovery can be as daunting mentally as it is physically. The renowned actor and DJ shares his insights on how he has navigated the delicate balance between rehabilitation, fitness, and professional commitments, especially with an upcoming Bollywood debut on the horizon.
Ali shares the impact of the injury on mind and body, saying, "After the back injury, I've been sceptical about lifting heavy weights, something I've always preferred. Mentally, the injury instilled fear in me, while physically, I sought workouts that minimize the risk of relapse."
Regarding the strategies he applied for a speedy recovery, he shares, "Back heating, extensive stretching, yoga, bodyweight exercises, and cardio have been staples in my routine. I've embraced a no-weight-lifting regimen for now."
For Ali, balancing fitness and professional life is important. He says, "Maintaining fitness amidst my professional commitments boils down to diet. When my nutrition is on point, my fitness becomes manageable. Even while travelling, I carve out time for at least 60 minutes of gym time, focusing on cardio, stretching, yoga, and body weights."
While he shares the unexpected insight of the surgery, "Taking a break from routine workouts and restarting with innovative exercises can be refreshing. Muscle memory aids in quick recovery, but I've learned that diet is the cornerstone of fitness, offering unexpected benefits when restarting."
