Authorities in Buenos Aires have conducted a raid at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel following the tragic death of former One Direction member Liam Payne. The 31-year-old singer fell from the balcony of his third-floor room on October 16.

An autopsy indicated that Payne may have been in a "semi-conscious or unconscious" state when he fell, resulting in multiple injuries, including a cranial fracture.

According to Argentinian newspaper LA NACION, police from the Special Investigations Division and the Special Technological Investigations Division executed the raid on Wednesday to gather evidence related to the investigation. This included collecting vital "documents and videos" from the hotel's lobby and courtyard, as well as seizing computers, phones, and other electronic devices.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that the focus of the investigation is on identifying the hotel staff who were on duty during Payne's stay, particularly on the day of his death and the days leading up to it. Authorities suspect that hotel employees may have been involved in providing drugs to Payne, particularly noting a Dove soapbox that was believed to have been used to conceal narcotics. The source emphasized that the hotel is required to provide additional security camera footage to aid the investigation.

A toxicology report confirmed that Payne had "multiple substances in his system" at the time of his death, including crack cocaine, benzodiazepines, and traces of pink cocaine—a recreational drug that combines methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and other substances.
