Hours after Liam Payne’s tragic death, the Buenos Aires Security Ministry released a crucial statement about the One Direction star’s passing. The world was left in shock by the sudden loss on October 16. A new update has revealed that Liam Payne allegedly “jumped from the balcony of his hotel room.”
The statement was provided by Pablo Policicchio, the communication director for the ministry, to the Associated Press. Earlier reports had claimed that Liam fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room.
Authorities received a distress call shortly after 5 p.m. local time, and emergency teams rushed to the hotel immediately. Despite their quick response, it was too late to save the pop star.
According to Marca, investigators found several unusual items in Liam’s room, including a shattered television screen, a dove soap container, candle remnants, aluminum foil matches, and a powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. They also discovered a burned soda can top, a lighter, and more candle remnants along with burn marks in the bathtub.
The Buenos Aires police confirmed that Liam suffered “extremely severe” injuries. Medical professionals who arrived at the scene shared that the singer passed away instantly. In a 911 call made by the hotel manager, he described the situation: “A guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol… He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please.”
Fans and the music industry are deeply shaken by the news of Liam Payne’s death, especially because of the unexpected nature of the tragedy and the fact that the beloved musician was only 31 years old.
