This personality needs no introduction. As the famous phrase goes, "actions speak louder than words" and yes, in her case, she has gained all the name and fame ever since her debut in 1968 through her flawless acting skills. She is none other than the amazing Hema Malini.

A celebrity who is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actresses of Indian cinema, during her early start of success Malini was named as the "Dream Girl", owing to her beauty and skills in dancing and acting. However, in today's era, she is also fondly known as the "Dream Mom" of Bollywood.

Malini has acted in many blockbuster movies in various roles but her role as a caring, loving and emotional mother off late that has the world singing her praise. Perhaps it is due to her special quality where which she is able to completely dissolves herself in the character she is portraying.

After a successive career in the 1970's, Malini took a break from acting to dedicate time to her personal and family life. Early 2003 saw her returning back with a bang in the movie Baghban - which also co-starred Amitabh Bachchan - which was a heartbreaking tale of coping with distance in a relationship. Malilni's performance in the film was highly commended where she played a fun loving mother to five children who then leave her and her husband stranded during an age where they needed their children's support the most.

Malini's chemistry with Bollywood's Angry Young Man goes a long way down memory lane and till date their magic still works wonders over the audience. It is probably the reason why Baghban became a super hit blockbuster at the Box Office and earned Malini the award of the Best Sensational Actress (2003) as well as the Best Star Screen Jodi No.1 Award, which she shared with Amitabh Bachchan. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

In all the aforementioned movies, her roles may have total to very little screen time, yet they have been stated as significant and more importantly, admired. She did justice to every dialogue and portrayed a real bond in a reel scenario.

Malini latest work consists of feature film directorial titled Tell Me O Khuda (2011), starring her eldest daughter Esha Deol in the main lead as well as her husband Dharmendra Singh Deol. Although the movie did not do well at the Box Office, she was praised for her effort.

Being an accomplished classical dancer, Malini has a few hit numbers tucked under her belt. A sample from her playlist in the motherly avatar include: the romantic one "Meri Makhna" from Baghban, "Gaa Re Mann" from Baabul, "Haal-E-Dil" from Buddha Hoga Tera Baap and last but not the least, a full on dhamaal song "Tere Kurbaan Jawan" from Veer-Zaara.
