Lag Ja Gale star Tanisha Mehta on the show's sudden end: We deserved a second chance

Zee TV's show 'Lag Jaa Gale' recently gone off air. The show could not bear the brunt of dipping TRPs and hence was pulled down. However, Tanisha Mehta, the lead of 'Lag Ja Gale' is p[retty disappointed by this decision of the channel and rightly so, the actress states that the cast worked pretty hard and that they deserved a second chance.

Talking to us about the show going off-air, Tanisha said, ''It was very disappointing for me. All of us were working really hard. I think it was because of IPL that our TRPs dipped. Every TV show has suffered because of IPL, but I think we deserved a second chance. We did not get a chance to prove ourselves. Our show enjoyed a run of around 3-4 months and I think the audience loved us. I will miss everything, the energy on sets, my costars and our bond, literally everything.''

Further, we asked the actress what does she think went wrong that the audience could not connect with the show and she said, ''I have no clue. Everything about the show was great and yet, all of a sudden we received the news of our show going off-air. I do not even want to know the reason but I genuinely believe that something that had potential was shut down and was not given a chance. Our TRPs were improving slowly, we deserved a second chance.''

When we asked Tanisha about the last day on sets, the actress said, ''Everything happened so quickly. Like our shoot was over in no time. We did not get the time to feel any emotions. I think it is going to take some time for me to sink it all in.''

Talking about her bond with costar Namik Paul, Tanisha said, ''My bond with him is great. In a span of 3-4 months, we were slowly getting to know each other better but before we could get to know each other more, the show was pulled off and we were separated. I was trying to get to know him more. We hit it off instantly on the day of our mock shoot itself. I have made a lot of friends on the sets of the show.''

We asked Tanisha about a scene from the show that had gone viral. In this scene, Ishaani's pallu gets stuck in Shiv's belt and she is pulled over and dragged outside after which she falls in his arms and the two of them share a brief romantic moment. Talking to us about the same, Tanisha said, ''I too laughed very hard when I first read that scene. That scene was written in such a way that it was impossible to not look funny. However, shooting it was fun. I am happy that it went viral and memes were made because at least it made someone laugh.''

Talking to us about her upcoming projects, Tanisha said, ''I will do something new very soon.''
