In the latest episode of Koffee with Karan, the Koffee couch witnessed an absolute rollercoaster of fun and excitement with the enchanting cousins, Rani Mukerji and Kajol, stealing the show. Amidst their lively banter and playful leg-pulling of host Karan Johar, the episode unfolded as a riot of entertainment, leaving the audience in splits. However, amidst the laughter, a poignant moment emerged as Rani Mukerji opened up about a deeply personal choice – the deliberate shielding of her daughter, Adira, from the public eye and media scrutiny.
During the engaging conversation, Karan Johar inquired about Rani's successful strategy of maintaining Adira's privacy, noting the absence of her pictures in the media. In response, Rani humorously revealed, "I simply tell them not to snap the baby's picture. They look into my eyes, and they get scared." The actress went on to share the backstory of this decision, expressing gratitude to the paparazzi and media for respecting her family's wishes.
Right from Adira's birth, Rani and her husband, Aditya Chopra, made a conscious decision to keep their daughter away from the public gaze. Rani explained, "It was our decision together that we didn't want Adira to be photographed because we have a different idea of how we want to raise Adira, so that she doesn't feel privileged or she doesn't feel very special at school, and she feels like any other kid." The actress emphasized that this approach aimed at ensuring Adira's normalcy and preventing her from receiving undue attention.
Reflecting on a significant moment, Rani shared that the first time she traveled with Adira outside the country, she made a request to the paparazzi, saying, "Please don't take pictures of the baby." Since that day, the media has respected her wishes, patiently waiting until Adira is safely inside the airport before capturing any photos.
