KWK8: Neetu Kapoor on Rishi Ji's final days: "He was never a friend to the kids, but he transformed"

In an emotional and candid revelation, veteran Bollywood actors Neetu Kapoor and Zeenat Aman took center stage on the 12th episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8. During the heartfelt conversation, Neetu Kapoor shared poignant memories of the final days she spent with her late husband, Rishi Kapoor, while the veteran actor battled leukemia. Reflecting on their time together in New York, where Rishi Kapoor underwent treatment, Neetu expressed a desire to focus on the positive aspects of their relationship during those challenging times.

"So, Karan, for me, I don't like to remember the sad part. I like to remember the good part of our relationship and of our time in New York. So, New York was really sad, but we had the best year, I had the best year of my life," Neetu Kapoor shared, encapsulating the bittersweet essence of that period.

Neetu went on to reveal a touching transformation in Rishi Kapoor's demeanor during his final days. Known for being reserved and somewhat distant, especially with his children, Rishi underwent a heartwarming change in his approach. Neetu disclosed, "Because you know Chintu Ji (Rishi Kapoor) is a very loving person. He had a lot of love in him. But there was something he never really showed - his love. He always kept his distance and bullying people, not show his love. Especially with me and my children, he was like a big thing. Respect and all and with that, he lost out on a lot with his children. He was never a friend to them."

In a touching revelation, Neetu Kapoor continued, "But that year, he opened up. He showed love, went towards me also; he was so lovely. We had the best time." The actress's words painted a picture of a transformative period in their relationship, characterized by newfound warmth and shared moments of love and connection. Rishi Kapoor, a beloved figure in the film industry, passed away in 2020 after a prolonged battle with leukemia.
