Kunal Kemmu & Vidyut Jammwal Not Invited to Disney+Hotstar Event, Express Displeasure: '7 Films Scheduled, Only 5 Deemed Worthy'

The online streaming platform   Disney+Hotstar held an online press conference today to make a big announcement of the films that are scheduled to release on the OTT platform. 

Seven Bollywood films like Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride of India,  Sadak 2, Dil Bechara, Big Bull,  Lootcase and Khuda Haafiz will release directly on the platform.

Actors like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan were present at the event to promote their respective films. However, Kunal Kemmu and Vidyut Jammwal went missing and looks like the two actors were not invited for the event to promote their films, like the other actors.

Kunal took to Twitter to pen down a cryptic tweet demanding for an equal field. “Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai (Respect and love can never be asked for, only earned. If someone doesn’t give it to you, it doesn’t make you small. Just give us an equal playing field, we’ll show you how high we can leap),” he wrote in his tweet.

Vidyut too expressed his displeasure as he tweeted: 

 “A BIG announcement for sure!! 7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It’s a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES."

Meanwhile, it was only recently that the Bollywood industry faced a lot of ire for its alleged favouritsm and ignoring 'outsiders' or 'non star kids.' The debate surfaced after Sushant Singh Rajput's death, who committed suicide on June 14, 2020.
