The surge in COVID-19 cases in the country is worrisome along with the increasing Omicron threat. This is slowly forcing film and television producers to take additional precautionary measures on sets to ensure everyone's health safety.
According to sources from the film industry have revealed that song shoots, like the one that was supposed to feature Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi in ‘Phone Bhoot’, are pushed ahead.
The song shoot starring Katrina, Ishaan and Siddhant's has been pushed by a week because it has a requirement of over 100 background dancers.
The source has also revealed that other big-budget song shoots that similarly require many background dancers will also be put on hold, if the number of COVID cases don't come down.
Similarly, there was another song for Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ to be shot with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, which has also been postponed and may end up taking a little more time before it can be shot.
To get a perspective on this situation, some news portals reached out to a senior dancer from the film industry, who said,
“Producers are taking precaution because the cases are going up and they want to avoid crowds on the set. This is being done for songs that require a large number of dancers in it.”
While it remains to be seen when these songs from ‘Phone Bhooth’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will be shot.
But the film industry taking the right precautions during shoots is a very much needed decision in this time of distress.
