Karan Johar marked a poignant moment today, by sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram in memory of his late father, Yash Johar. This day marks two decades since the loss of Yash Johar, a revered figure in Indian cinema known for producing iconic films like "Dostana," "Duniya," "Agneepath," "Gumrah," and "Duplicate."

In a deeply emotional post, Karan expressed his enduring love and grief for his father. He revealed that his greatest fear had always been losing a parent. Karan shared a series of nostalgic images of Yash Johar from their family archives, portraying the warmth and strength of the man he admired so much.

In his note, Karan wrote, "I can’t believe it’s been 20 years……..My biggest fear was losing a parent… August 2nd,2003 my father told me he had a malignant tumour… my worst nightmare was staring at me and yet it was my duty as his child to stay positive and keep the faith… but the worst thing about instincts are that….they never lie….He left us 10 months after …. We lost him … but we gained every inch of his mammoth goodwill…. I was so proud to be the son of the most solid, soulful and selfless man… he put his relationships above everything else… and has left a legacy of love that my mother and I still live by ….I wish he knew our children … but I do know he’s watching over them and us….all the time …Love you Papa…"

Earlier in June, Karan also took to Instagram to commemorate another significant milestone. He revealed that "Lakshya," directed by Farhan Akhtar, was the last film his father watched at a premiere. The movie, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 18, 2024. Karan reminisced about how proud his father was after the premiere, praising Farhan, Zoya Akhtar, and Hrithik Roshan. He mentioned that "Lakshya" holds a special place in his heart, as it was the final film experience his father enjoyed and the last occasion he met many industry colleagues.

Karan Johar's heartfelt tributes reflect the enduring legacy of Yash Johar and the profound influence he continues to have on his son's life and career.
