Kangana Ranaut expresses her views on Tanushree-Nana controversy

Here's what Kangana has to say about Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar controversy...

Tanushree Dutta whose allegations on some of the well known Bollywood personalities are buzzing all around the B-town. The actress made allegations that the veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar sexually harassed her on the sets of the movie 'Horn Ok Pleasss' in the year 2008. Some Bollywood celebrities such as Farhan Akhtar, Richa Chadda, Twinkle Khanna came in the support of Tanushree. Priyanka Chopra and Sonam Kapoor also expressed their views supporting Tanushree.

Reportedly, Kangana Ranaut who will be now seen playing Rani Laxmibai in her upcoming film 'Manikarnika-The Queen Of Jhansi' was asked to express her views on Tanushree-Nana incident. The actress did not take anyone's side. She reportedly said that "Raja Beta needs to be told the meaning of 'NO'. I am no one to pass a judgement on the topic and I appreciate Tanushree's courage of coming out in open and addressing the issue". Kangana further elaborated about social awareness and how Indian men are raised by their mothers as the 'Raja Betas' lack basic manners. Moreover, she feels that it's in the interest of society that the Raja betas are told what their parents fail to tell them. They must know that the fundamental human rights are the same for men and women.

Kangana reacted to this incident very neutrally before jumping on to any conclusions but she appreciated Tanushree's courage.

"It takes two hands to clap." Yeah and usually both hands belong to one person.

@priya120 Well if she consented to those scenes, what makes you think she didn't consent to what happened off screen? How come it's her that got harassed and no other actress did? The truth which most of you self proclaimed feminists cant handle is that all these actors/actresses consented to cheapness. Dont tell me "Tanushree is a little kid who was exploited and forced to do nude scenes". She very much "consented" as you mentioned and she knew what she was getting into. If you think being a part of this filthy industry doesn't have consequences then you have no idea what you're talking about. Do you really think people would respect you after watching you take off your clothes in front of the camera and do what's usually done behind the camera and during nighttime? And obviously you wont find any decent men in an industry which is known for turning people into shameless and thirsty animals. How do you think people like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, etc. became popular? They had to sacrifice their dignity and self respect for the sake of fame. Go watch Quantico and see what kind of sacrifice Priyanka made. No one forced her to do those scenes. She did those scenes willingly. Same is the case with Tanushree. She could have said no to those scenes in Aashiq Banaya Aapne but she thought it would make her "famous". Now that no one is taking her, she's desperate for work. And for your kind information, I'm not normalizing exploitation but exploitation is normal in the film and television industry. It's very hypocritical of Priyanka Chopra to talk about women empowerment while doing nude scenes. Is that what women empowerment is about?? People like Priyanka and Kareena dont even know the very first thing about women empowerment.

@Cshafkat r u seriously asking me to look at where the victim went wrong? it doesnt matter if she did nude scenes or whatever she did in aashiq banaya apne. she consented to do those scenes. what she did not consent to is the sexual harassment. the fact that a victim has to be afraid of being kicked out or lose their job for reporting her/his superior is why we have the metoo movement. N stop normalizing the exploitation of actors/actresses. Just because it happens, itz not normal n it happens in every industry.

@priya120 Poor girl you are. Let me tell you why they dont come forward. Because they're in an industry that is known for exploitation and they feel the need to sacrifice some of their dignity for the sake of fame. Dont tell me these actors/actresses became famous without sacrifice. They had to sacrifice their dignity to become famous. Tanushree did the same thing. Go watch Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Raqeeb. She was the one who consented to those scenes, etc. If she wanted she could have said no but she didn't because she thought it was necessary to make her famous. She thought it was her "job". Now that no one's taking her in movies, she's looking for a way to get back in the limelight but obviously that wont happen. So instead of blaming people like me go and see where these so called victims went wrong.

@cshafcat itz because of people like u that victims dont come forward. Smh the mentality of people like u is whats ruining society. N fyi itz sexual harassment because it wasnt bloody hell consensual.

You need 2 hands to clap. If it happened without consent, then why did she remain quiet about it for so many years??? Oh wait she had career concerns right. Now that she's jobless, she's searching for a way to come back. What if she wasn't jobless? Would she still speak up? The answer is no and she would continue to get "harrassed".
People can be so cheap that they feel its right to ruin someone's career simply because they wanna get back in limelight. Sorry dear Tanu, no one wants you back. You were shit then and you're shit now. Do something else please.
Just because people in Hollywood are doing something stupid, these Bollywood f**kers feel it's obligatory upon them to follow.

Her comments did not at all indicate that she was being neutral. I think she made it very evident from her comment about what she thought was correct, disregard of whether she was privy to the details of the incident
