Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of 54. After battling with cancer for two long years, the actor finally gave up. In 2018 he announced that he’d been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour.
Irrfan was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday. His official spokesperson had informed him that the actor was under observation for colon infection. Irrfan succumbed to the infection and left for heavenly abode.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar had confirmed the shocking news of his demise through a tweet that read, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”
As soon as the news of his demise broke out, his family members rushed to the Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Here are some pictures from the hospital:
The actor is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons- Babil and Ayan Khan. Irrfan’s last rites were performed today at Versova Yari Road Kabristan.

Irrfan was buried at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he’s in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss.
