Hrithik Roshan recently called for severe punishment for the accused involved in the Kolkata rape and murder case. The 'Fighter' actor expressed his strong stance on the matter via his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. In a detailed note, he emphasized the need for justice and stated that to prevent such tragedies, strict actions against the perpetrators are crucial.

“Yes we need to evolve into a society where we ALL feel equally safe. But that is going to take decades. It’s going to hopefully happen with sensitizing and empowering our sons and daughters. The next generations will be better. We will get there. Eventually. But what in the interim? Right now justice would be to put a hard stop to such atrocities. And the only way to do that is a punishment so harsh that it scares the living daylights out of such perpetrators. That’s what we need. Perhaps?” Hrithik wrote.

“I stand with the victim’s family in seeking justice for their daughter and I stand with all the Doctors that were attacked last night,” the actor added.

Earlier on Thursday, Genelia D’Souza also demanded capital punishment for the individuals behind this horrific crime. She joined the call for justice in the Kolkata rape and murder case, advocating for severe consequences for the perpetrators. “Monsters need to be hanged!!! Just reading what the victim went through sent chills up my spine. A woman, a lifesaver who was on duty faced this horror in the seminar hall. My heart goes out to the family and her loved ones – can’t even imagine how they are facing this tragedy. Independence for me would mean when the women in our country can truly feel secure,” she wrote.

Many Bollywood actors have voiced their anger and disbelief regarding the appalling incident, expressing their shock and outrage over the tragic case.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Preity Zinta have also responded to the incident recently. “12 years later, the same story, the same protest. But we are still waiting for change,” Kareena wrote. On the flip side, Preity Zinta also conveyed her anger, labeling the Kolkata rape and murder case as "heartbreaking" and "disgusting". She emphasized the need to prioritize women's safety and expressed hope for stringent punishments for the accused.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut labeled the incident as "horrible" and urged a CBI probe into the case. Additionally, Alia Bhatt, Swara Bhasker, and Richa Chadha voiced their outrage and demanded justice for the tragic event.

Please police catch the real criminals and encounter the criminals. Put a full stop to the criminals and dont let them get fed food and rest in jails for years. And you so called human rights dont interfere. Human rights where is your ethics gone when women are raped and murdered?
