Everyone has been shaking their 'tooh' for quite a while now and Vishal -
Shekhar do need a pat on their back for making the music of the film 'Tooh Cool'. The music peps up the film in the first half but disappoints
in the second, except for the 'Chingam' song which makes you tap your feet all
the time.
Coming from the production house of Karan Johar, the film had to look glossy and lavish. Its good to see rich happy good looking people in pretty clothes dancing away to glory. This Dharma presentation looks good on the big screen and well that's pretty much about it.
From the making of it you will have an idea that it's a Punit Malhotra film as it has glimpses of I Hate Luv Storys in it. The lover boy next door, Imran (Sriram) is more or less of what he was in I Hate Luv Storys.
Coming to Kareena Kapoor Khan (Dia) who is an NGO worker in the film is surely the prettiest social activist I have ever seen till now. She is drop dead gorgeous and there is no denying that. She is good as Dia but then we've seen much better performances from her. She's good, but then somewhere it was difficult to save this ship even for this damsel.
Dia is a social activist who eats, drinks, sleeps, talks, thinks, social service that pushes Sriram's buttons and he gets fed up and decides to leave. Comes Shraddha Kapoor (Vasudha), the would be bride of Sriram and makes him realize what he's living without. Boy eventually realises who the love of his life actually is and runs to a village called Jhumli to prove his love for his girl. That happens what always happens and after fighting with all the obstacles that the screenplay could set up for them, they eventually stay happily ever after, is what we are presuming now.
Talking about Imran, he seems to be home as this is what he's good at, the rom-com hero. He has tried to make us smile in the film but eventually its the overall product that counts.
Gori Tere Pyaar Mein could have been a better film. The first part of the film has some fun moments but over all its a bit of a drag. They could have cut it short at some places.
All in all Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is just another flick on the block. Watch it for the music in it. I'll give this one 2 stars, one for the music and the other one for Bebo and Imran's effort.
