The film 'Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam' marks singer Dhvani Bhanushali's Bollywood debut and is all set to hit the theaters this week. The film also stars actors like Aashami Gulati and an appearance from Gaurav Manwane, who was last seen in the film 'Khel Khel Mein'. In a recent exclusive interview with India Forums the actor shared his views on the film, his camaraderie with Dhvani and Aashim and also about the box office collection of 'Khel Khel Mein'.
How was it working in kahan shuri kahan khatam?
Working on Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam was really fun. I loved the story - it's a comedy, so there were lots of funny moments. The best part was the people I worked with. Everyone, from the actors to the crew, was super nice and easy to get along with. The director Saurabh Das Gupta was great too. He let us be creative with our characters, which helped me a lot since my role was pretty different from who I am in real life.
Have your heard dhvani's songs before, how was your bond off set with her?
Yeah, I knew Dhvani's songs before working with her. She's got a really great voice. Off-set, we got along really well. During our breaks, we chatted a lot. She's super friendly and fun to be around. Dhvani's just a really nice person, always cheerful and easy to talk to. And working with Aashim Gulati was also a great experience. He's a lot like Dhvani in terms of personality - really nice and easy to get along with. On set, Aashim was always friendly and fun to be around. We had a good time working together, and his positive attitude made the whole process enjoyable.
What prep you had done for the character! Spill some beans on your character?
hahaha, I wish I could tell you more, but I've got to keep most of it under wraps for now. What I can say is that this role really pushed me out of my comfort zone. It's basically the total opposite of who I am in real life, which made it both challenging and exciting to play. I had to dig deep and explore a completely different side of myself for this character. It was quite an experience!
How do you see yourself growing as an actor now?
I'm looking to grow as an actor by taking on challenging roles and stepping out of my comfort zone. My goal is to push myself with diverse characters that are very different from who I am. I want to take risks and try new things in acting. Each role is a chance to learn and improve my skills. Basically, I'm excited to tackle tough parts that will help me become a better, more versatile actor.
Did 'Khel Khel Mein's box office affected you? what had you thought about it??
The box office numbers for 'Khel Khel Mein' didn't really affect me. I know there are lots of reasons why a movie might not make as much money as expected. For me, the most important things were doing my best in my first big movie role and learning from working with great actors like Akshay sir. I'm really proud of the film we made. We all worked hard on it, and I learned so much. The experience and skills I gained are worth more to me than box office numbers. I'm thankful for the chance to be in the movie and happy about the good things people who've seen it have said. Every movie teaches you something new, and I'm taking all I learned from 'Khel Khel Mein' with me as I move forward in my acting career.
What's next in store for you??
Well, I've got a surprise coming up! I can't say too much right now, but I'm about to start work on a big commercial project. It's really exciting, and I think people are going to love it. I wish I could tell you more, but you'll just have to stay tuned. Something big is definitely on the way!
