'Gangubai Kathiawadi's new song ‘Meri Jaan' out now: Alia Bhatt and Shantanu romance in the car

Five more days to Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi release and our wait for the film is only getting more difficult by the day. Ajay Devgn will also play a pivotal role in the film starring Alia.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the film, the makers have treated their fans with yet another song from the film today.

'Meri Jaan' is the latest track from Gangubai Kathiawadi. The song is beautifully crooned by Neeti Mohan which shows passionate and cheeky chemistry between Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari.

Alia aka Gangu invites Shantanu out for a drive in the song video. She winks at him while driving, holding a bright red rose between her lips. However, as soon as he gets near, she drops the rose and continues to tease him. 

When Shantanu's character clutches her fiercely, Gangu intervenes and becomes furious. You can see her swing from passionate to angry in a matter of seconds. When Shantanu hides his face in shame, Gangu grins and sets her anger aside. Eventually, Gangu resists letting Shantanu's character kiss her, instead gently caressing her head with his hand. It will crush your heart to see her break down and let down her emotional barriers. 

Fans can see Alia's powerful performance, her various expressions, and Gangu's pain in this track, which was shot in a car.

What makes this song even more striking is the way Sanjay Leela Bhansali has curated his vision to picturise an entire song sequence within a car and emotions expressed at their best!

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film is all set to release theatrically on 25th February 2022.
