The much-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit movie Dream Girl is ready to make its way to cinemas tomorrow. Ayushmann Khurrana is back in his leading role, and this time he's joined by Ananya Panday. Ananya steps into the shoes of Ayushmann's love interest, adding a fresh vibe to this comedy-drama as she replaces Nushrratt Bharuccha, who was the female lead in the original film.

Nushrratt had previously expressed her disappointment about not being chosen for the sequel. Ayushmann has now opened up about this and provided insight into the casting change.

During a recent conversation with The Indian Express, Ayushmann Khurrana, the main star of Dream Girl 2, discussed the decision to cast Ananya instead of Nushratt. He clarified that the second installment had a distinct storyline and a different approach, making Ananya a fitting pick due to her lively personality and her ability to grasp the required accent.

Ayushmann shared that this film is an organic sequel to Dream Girl. They had to cast a different film, and Ananya fit the bill. He thinks she is very spunky and adds value to the film. The way she has taken the accent in the film, the Mathura accent, is very commendable. He further said, "It was fun working with her and I would love to work with her in the future as well.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film features an impressive supporting cast, including Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, and Annu Kapoor, among others
